Technology rising up and overtaking its human masters is a well-worn plot in science fiction (the Terminator movies, for example).

But a lot of people are talking about the dangers of technology in real life too.

Elon Musk has repeatedly said that he thinks artificial intelligence is a risk to human existence, and is warning the main players in that field to slow down so they don’t make mistakes.

I haven’t been following the whole “AI taking us over” debate, but I do think that technology can be good for your business.

Take for example Alexa, the virtual assistant made by Amazon.

I just launched a new show as an Alexa flash briefing called The Marc Mawhinney Minute, and I’m confident it’s going to drive a lot of traffic over to my site and bring in new business.

The cool thing is it doesn’t take long for me to do them, and very few entrepreneurs are using it – so I’m on the ground floor of something that I think will be big.
