I once read about a guy who had a unique strategy for picking up women.
(Well, maybe it’s not that unique – but I’d never heard of it before).
He would go to his local bank machine and look through the garbage can for the discarded statements.
Once he found one with a big account balance, he would pocket it and head out to hit the bars.
At different times in the night, “Richie Rich” would flash his bank statement so women could see it, to see what fish he could catch.
I guess he did ok with this, since he got lots of dates from it.
At first glance it looks like a clever strategy.
But the problem is the guy will have to back up what he’s showing.
He might be able to spring for a nice dinner on a first date, but pretty soon it’s going to be McDonald’s or pizza at home. And trips to the local mall instead of exotic vacations on a private jet.
He can only keep up the act so long.
The same goes with having an online coaching business.
If you’re a coach out there making big promises, you’re going to have to eventually walk the walk:
If you’re one of these “7 figures in one month while working five minutes a day with my magic funnel” people, or “I’ll help you lose 50 pounds quickly while eating all the fast food you want” coaches, word will get out once that doesn’t materialize.
(I’m not saying that you shouldn’t put your best foot forward. Richie Rich shouldn’t show up at the bar in the same t-shirt that he’s been wearing for days and not having had a shower for a week – just not to resort to inflating what you do)
