HELPING COACHES GET MORE CLIENTS SINCE 2014!

Let’s give them something to talk about

by | Jan 12, 2018 | Blog

A few days ago I bought Fire and Fury – Michael Wolff’s new book about the Trump administration.

Being a political nut, it was a no-brainer for me. It seems like everyone has been talking about the book, and I had to check it out and read what’s in it for myself.

It’s being talked about so much that even people who don’t pay much attention to politics are buying it, and that’s allowed it to shoot up the bestseller lists quickly (stores instantly sold out of them, and the publisher is now printing an extra 1,000,000 copies to keep up with the demand).

Regardless of whether you’re pro-Trump or anti-Trump, or whether you think the book is 100% factual or the biggest load of BS ever printed, the incredible buzz makes it awful tempting to get it.

That’s the great thing about exposure and buzz. It draws people to you, and it’s great for business.

Buzz polarizes and gets you raving fans (and detractors, but your raving fans will rush to your side when you’re attacked).

I’m not suggesting that people talk about my coaching business nearly as much as they’ve been talking about this book, but I’ve noticed a sharp upwards trend for my “buzz” in the last four years.

When I started in the coaching space at the beginning of 2014, people didn’t know who I was. I was starting in a new industry from scratch, and with a shoe string budget.

Since I didn’t have the money to dump into expensive ads, I made up for it by consistently getting my message out there: daily podcasts for 300 straight days, being interviewed on other peoples’ shows (hundreds of those), and creating an incredible amount of content for social media.

After some time, I noticed that I started to get traction. Now I have opportunities coming to me: people reaching out to hire me as their coach, strangers buying my programs, invitations to go on podcasts and to speak at events, etc.

I’m not going to let up on the activities that have gotten me this buzz, since I don’t want those opportunities to dry up, but it’s nice to see results from my actions.

If your coaching business isn’t where you’d like it to be, you can’t sit still. You have two choices:

1) Invest a lot of money into advertising, or

2) Invest a lot of energy into organic efforts (which I did)

If you’d like to get buzz going for your business with option #2, I can help.

I’m opening up another of my popular 10 Clients In 90 Days group programs in a few weeks, and there aren’t many spots left.
