Note: we had some audio issues during this call that couldn’t be completely fixed with editing, especially noticeable when I’m talking! After consideration, and knowing how valuable Stephanie’s time is/how good the advice that she gives is, I decided to air it as planned!
Stephanie Calahan had what appeared to be a successful career in Corporate America: a high salary, lots of travel, assistants that worked for her, and more. But deep down she wasn’t happy – and the stress of the environment was wreaking havoc on her health. She ultimately decided to escape from the corporate position to start her own coaching business, and uses her unique experience to help others escape from the traps in their lives!
BECOMING A COACH
Stephanie previously worked as a corporate consultant for Fortune 50 to Fortune 100 companies. She led a team of about 300 people, but when the company she worked for became publicly traded, the culture turned toxic and she became physically ill!
She realized that she had to escape from Corporate America and opened her own coaching and consulting business. By keeping the things she liked in her previous life and eliminating the things that she didn’t like, her coaching business became a hit and she’s built a successful practice doing what she loves.
BIGGEST OBSTACLE
Herself. Stephanie admits that she’s a workaholic, and when she started coaching she brought those traits with her. She’s worked hard to gain more balance in her life.
GETTING NEW COACHING CLIENTS
Stephanie gets most of her new clients from speaking and networking. When she was sick, she wasn’t able to network in person so she dove further into the world of social media, and learned how to leverage that to get more clients.
