Beliefs are powerful things.
Take those around money, for example.
I’ve talked with a number of successful coaches who have told me that negative beliefs about the green stuff imprinted on them as children still linger decades later.
One confessed to me that even though she makes multiple six figures a year, she still fears that her power will be cut off since it happened so often to her when growing up. She puts on a sweater and extra pair of socks rather than turning up the heat when she’s cold.
Another one automatically heads to the discount rack every time he enters a store, since his mother only bought things on sale when he was growing up.
And another one completed a successful six figure launch, but then hesitated buying a couple hundred dollar toolbox a day later because he wasn’t sure he could afford it.
These are just a few examples that pop into my head, but a lot of people have stories of their parents telling them “money doesn’t grow on trees” and imprinting negative beliefs on them from their early years.
