When I launched my podcast back in late 2014, I thought I was late to the party.
I looked at hosts who started theirs a few years before me and were knocking it out of the park, and I thought “Ah man, I should have started back then!”
But I still pulled the trigger and launched Natural Born Coaches, and I’m glad I did.
It just celebrated its 7 year anniversary, and 741 episodes later I talk with aspiring podcasters who sound like Old Marc did, telling me they’d love to start a show … but it’s “too late to do it!”
There’s never a perfect time to launch a podcast, but as the saying goes:
“The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.”
Podcasting is booming, with a recent study showing that 55% of the US population has listened to one, with 37% listening in the last month and 24% listening in just the last week. I don’t see those numbers declining, as more and more people are being exposed to the medium and becoming fans.
And it doesn’t hurt that new vehicles are being made with podcast players!
