Earlier this year Dan Pena (“The 50 Billion Dollar Man”) was having a real problem with people who had no association with him but claimed to be affiliated with him.
So many were using his name, image, likeness, or pretending to be his mentees that he had to put his lawyers to work and threaten them to stop the practice.
Matthew Kimberley was recently telling me that “Book Yourself Solid” has had its own issues with these types of folks, except in their situation it’s the copycats sharing the BYS content and parts of the system without properly crediting it.
(Given the track record of Book Yourself Solid it’s hardly surprising that some would try to coast off its success …)
The problem is they take just a snippet or two of what BYS teaches, and then try to pass it off as their own.
This rarely works – just like putting one ingredient in a cake won’t give birth to a very tasty creation.
