I once spoke with a coach who told me a story that has stuck with me ever since:
This coach had her best year ever in business …
She smashed her previous revenue records, and she was a very happy camper.
So she decided to reward herself with a trip to somewhere warm and sunny for the first three months of the following year – in January, February and March.
She would take it easy, and not release any new content while she was away.
Since it was for only three months, and she had such a great year, her business would still be riding high when she got back in April … right?
Unfortunately that didn’t happen.
When she came back to civilization after those three months she had to start her business up (almost) from scratch.
People forgot about her when she was gone, she wasn’t on the top of their minds anymore.
This is a cautionary tale for coaches, and illustrates why you can’t get complacent when it comes to consistent content creation.
