Hey, are you free on November 18th, 2115?
Up for a movie?
“100 Years – The Movie You Will Never See” stars John Malkovich and it won’t be released for, you guessed it, 100 years!
So unfortunately, you and I won’t get to see it (unless you have some incredible genes that I don’t know about.)
But after hearing the hype around this movie’s release date, I got thinking about some pretty deep stuff.
We all know what we won’t be around forever, but we forget how short life really is.
Hearing a definitive date like November 18th, 2115 made me stop for a second and realize:
“Man, I’m not going to be around for that!”
But rather than let that depress me, I’d rather use it for motivation …
It’s a reminder that life is short, so we have to do what makes us happy.
And that’s a good thing.
Remember that we aren’t around forever can push us to do those things that we’ve been holding off doing.
Does failure matter that much when we acknowledge that we’ll be dead and gone before the turn of the next century?
The other lesson that I get from the promotion of this movie is the value of having a unique hook …
A 100 year release date? Genius! But this is the first time I’ve ever heard of something like this.
Is there something unique that you can do with your business that is fresh and unique (other than making clients wait 100 years to work with you?)
Food for thought – see you in 100 …
