One of the big questions that I get asked about daily emails is how I come up with the content to do them.
Although the more you do it the bigger your content creation muscles will get, I admit there are days when I’m not firing on all cylinders.
One day last year, I had to write my email and I was drawing a blank. So I did something that I recommend you do for content creation:
I surfed news sites.
New sites like Drudge and CNN are goldmines for content creation. Looking through the stories, you’re bound to find something that can be turned into an email to help your people.
On this particular day, I stumbled across a story about NFL Hall of Famer Warren Sapp getting bit by a shark while diving for lobster in Florida (crazy, right?)
I turned that particular story into an email about the need for coaches to avoid being bitten by the multitude of sharks swimming around in the online waters.
The email got a lot of feedback from coaches sharing their own “shark” stories with me, and people got a kick out of hearing about a shark taking a bite out of a football player.
Media sites are just one of the ways that I come up with content for my daily emails, and I’ll be giving others in the October issue of the Secret Coach Club newsletter.
