“Competition” is usually a dirty word.
But it can be a good thing.
It pushes you to work harder, and to be better.
Here are a few examples in the business world:
Wrestling kingpin Vince McMahon and the WWE were coasting along, until Eric Bischoff and the WCW put a lot of pressure on them, and WCW won the “Monday Night Wars” for 83 straight weeks … forcing Vince and his company to adapt and improve to stave off defeat (they ultimately came out on top)
Another example is with “Saturday Night Live”:
By the mid-90’s the show was floundering, and Mad TV challenged them for the top spot …
That competition forced SNL to improve, and they were able to hold off the attack and survive (and they’re still going today, although the quality is questionable)
So competition isn’t a bad word, it forces you to improve!
