Last weekend my Toronto Blue Jays were eliminated from playoff contention.
It came down to the wire, and they lost out by a hair (just one game), so it was a close one.
The frustrating thing is the team blew a ton of games back in April, May and June that they should have won … at least 7 or 8 of them!
Had they won even one or two of them I’d be celebrating today.
Back in the spring I was talking with a fellow Jays fan and complaining about all of the blown opportunities that the team had early in the season.
He told me not to worry, that it was only the spring and still early so it didn’t really matter.
But every game matters, whether it’s at beginning of the season or the end of it.
Back then I worried that those stupid losses would come back to bite us in the butts in October, and sure enough they did!
It’s that nonchalant attitude that cost the Blue Jays a chance at the World Series this year, and why I’m so big on maximizing all opportunities that come your way.
