The FOMO email

Here’s what pisses me off:

People who say:

“Only 3 spots left!” (for a digital program with infinite capacity)

or:

“The cart closes Sunday at midnight!” (then miraculously reopens Monday because of “tech issues”)

Fake scarcity.

Fake deadlines.

Marketers have beaten this horse to death.

But here’s the thing – real FOMO works. And it should.

If your offer is available 365 days a year with no incentive to act now, people won’t act now. They’ll think “I’ll do it later” and never come back.

So I use legitimate deadlines.

Real bonuses that actually expire.

An example:

Back in December, I ran a Coaching Jungle VIP lifetime deal. The offer itself is always available at $997. But anyone who joined by December 31st got a 3-month Mastermind bonus worth $891.

That deadline was real. The bonus is gone now. No extensions. No “oops we had tech issues.”

People who joined got the bonus. People who waited didn’t.

That’s how you use FOMO without being a sleazy marketer.
