I’ve been talking a lot with Ben Allen about the challenges facing aspiring authors, and he shared some depressing stats and stories with me:
- Most would-be authors dream of making a big impact with their book but suffer for years trying to write a book and never finish.
- Almost all authors have to carve out lots of time from family, work, health, and friends to write and wait for years to see if it pays off for them and their business.
- In addition to the time spent, many authors spend $10K-$250K on writing, editing, publishing, and marketing their books.
- The people they hire are often focused on getting paid, not necessarily the success of the book.
- Even with lots of help, most books flop because they weren’t developed with market-feedback
- Most self-published books sell only 250 copies.
- Most traditionally published books sell only 3,000 copies.
But I’m not going to be a Debbie Downer here … the good news is Ben has a ton of experience helping aspiring authors get past these pitfalls!
Starting on May 18th he’s doing a workshop called the “Micro Book Movement”, and he’ll be taking you through his proven method of cranking a book out in just 6 weeks (or less).
The workshop is priced well below what he usually charges, and you can get all of the details here:
