HELPING COACHES GET MORE CLIENTS SINCE 2014!

Shortcuts suck

by | Jul 15, 2017 | Blog

This week I’ve witnessed some coaches trying to shortcut success.

(Come to think of it, I’ve witnessed this pretty much every week that I’ve been in this business)

First, I saw coaches swiping the words of others and trying to pass it off as their original content. I saw a blatant example of this in my Facebook group when someone stole an email that Ben Settle sent recently and tried to pass it off as his own, but it was by no means an isolated incident.

Next, I was added to several email lists that I didn’t subscribe to. Those people figured “hey, I’m friends with Marc on Facebook so he won’t mind getting my emails!” (Wrong)

Finally, I was added to a number of Facebook groups without my permission.

These point to the fact that some people are trying to shortcut the path to success (I shot a FB live in The Coaching Jungle yesterday talking about it: https://www.facebook.com/groups/TheCoachingJungle/permalink/1410279302359984/)

You can’t shortcut success.

Stealing someone else’s content, or adding people to your email list and Facebook group without permission destroys any credibility that you may have had.

You’ll have more success coming up with your own content and building your email list and groups the right way: by having people coming to you instead of dumping them in those places.

It should be common sense, but I guess common sense isn’t that common nowadays.

I encourage my clients to show their own personality and not try to merely copy others.

If I catch any clients dumping people on their email lists or into their Facebook groups, they won’t be clients much longer.

It’s an approach that’s been working, since the coaches I’ve been working with have been doing really well.
