Seeing that it’s Halloween, today’s a great day to tell this story:
When I was a kid, Halloween was a big deal.
I grew up in a small community, and there wasn’t much going on there – so a chance to go around and collect bags full of candy was a pretty big deal.
Every year we made the rounds on October 31st, but we skipped a certain house. Not because it was far off the road (we would have gone miles for good candy), but because it was poorly-lit, looked creepy, and we were pretty sure that it was haunted.
After a few years of skipping the creepy house, we decided to venture up the dark driveway to ring the doorbell.
And to our surprise, the house wasn’t haunted. And no crazed-killers lived inside, either.
We actually got a nice haul of candy there (“nice haul” = cans of pop, full-sized chocolate bars, and no apples!)
So what lesson can you take from my Halloween story?
You have to push past your fears to get the good stuff.
As Jack Canfield said; “Everything you want is on the other side of fear”
When it comes to business, you’re not going to get much from the easy-to-do stuff.
It’s the things that take you out of your comfort zone that will give you the best results.
I have a front row seat to see it with my clients on a daily basis. And after awhile, they come to enjoy doing the stuff that used to scare them.
Doing the scary stuff works for trick-or-treating, and for business too.
If you’re ready to do some scary stuff that will grow your coaching business, I’m opening my next 10 Clients In 90 Days group program up the week of November 20th.
