In “Ego Is The Enemy”, Ryan Holiday talks about the “plus, minus, and equals” way of learning from people that he got from MMA trainer Frank Shamrock.
Basically, you need three different types of people in your life:
- Those who are better than you are now (the “pluses”)
- Someone under you that you can teach (the “minuses”)
- And someone equal to you that will challenge you to grow (your “equals”)
Looking at the people in my life, I can see that I have all three …
I learn from people who’ve been in the coaching and business game a lot longer than I have, I learn from the newbies that I work with (a lot from them, actually) and I’m thankful for peers that drive me to get better every day.
If you need to add new people to aid in your journey, we have openings available in my upcoming “Construct Your Dream Coaching Business” program.
