It’s tempting to try to be “all things to all people” in the online space.
You start out focusing on one thing, but get hauled into different directions by those darn BSOs (Bright, Shiny Objects).
Experts tell you that you should be doing this, and that you absolutely have to be doing that, and pretty soon you’re all over the place.
Whenever I get the urge to branch out into every which direction with offers, I remember Steve Jobs and his return to Apple.
When he came back for his second stint with the company, Apple was a mess. Its product line had swelled to 350 products, and those products weren’t very good.
So Jobs brought out the knife and cut the 350 mediocre products down to just a handful of really good ones.
He was ruthless about it, ignoring the howls of the naysayers who thought it was a mistake.
And the rest is history …
If you need to clarify your offers to make things more simple, I can help.
