I admit that I’m not as obsessive about my podcast, “Natural Born Coaches”, as other hosts are about their shows.
Many think it’s the end of the world if their show doesn’t make Apple’s “New & Noteworthy” list …
They refresh their dashboards every hour and pull their hair out over their download numbers …
They constantly check their reviews and lose sleep over any bad ones …
Or they re-listen to each of their episodes five times (I really don’t understand this one – too much time on their hands?)
For me, I record the episode, send it over to my editing team, and then I put it out of my mind and get busy with other stuff.
It’s been this attitude that has let me release over 600 episodes so far. If I worried about the things that others hosts worry about, I’d drive myself crazy and probably would have stopped the show years ago.
That being said, I can see the benefits of having as many reviews as possible for your podcast. Not for your ego, but the more reviews means that there’s a better chance of more eardrums taking in the show and benefitting from it.
“Natural Born Coaches” has a good number of reviews, but I’m going to put a push on to get more of them on Apple Podcasts.
