Anyone who has followed me for awhile knows that I’m a big baseball fan. Being Canadian of course I love hockey, but baseball is my favourite sport.
The trade deadline for Major League Baseball just passed, and it’s always a feverish time.
Lots of activity, teams talking with other teams in the hopes of making a deal, nervous fans.
The ones that want to get to the World Series are buyers – they’re ready to put their chips in the middle and go for that championship.
Others admit defeat and bunker down, to wait for another year (or years) before going for it.
My team – the Toronto Blue Jays – made a few trades this week, and signalled to their fans that they’re buyers and not sellers.
The trades weren’t anything earth-shattering (like last year, when they really went all out), but they got some good players who definitely improve the team.
When you’re running your business, you have to decide if you’re willing to make moves to be a champion too.
It doesn’t always take drastic, budget-busting transactions either. Often, a few well-timed moves are enough to start winning.
The best part of my job is seeing coaches make those shifts to get their businesses going. I had a call with a client yesterday who was telling me about getting her first paying client recently, and how it made her feel.
That first client made it feel real for her, and she saw how quickly it can happen.
If you’d like to do the same, I have a couple of options to help coaches that fit various budgets. You can learn more here ->
