HELPING COACHES GET MORE CLIENTS SINCE 2014!

Listen to Alec Baldwin and (A)lways (B)e (C)losing

Alec Baldwin has been talked about a lot lately for his portrayal of Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live.

Regardless of your political leanings, you have to admit that he’s pretty bang-on playing the President-elect …

But my favourite Alec Baldwin role is actually from Glengarry Glen Ross, where he gives one of the best sales speeches of all time to a small group of real estate agents.

His methods are a wee bit harsh, yet effective …

He demands that one agent put his coffee down (since “coffee is for closers”, didn’t you know???) and he uses some questionable language. But he shared something in that speech that coaches should remember:

A – B – C (“Always Be Closing”)

“Closing” has negative connotations.

A lot of people think that it’s slimy, and that selling is bad.

But you have to sell people in order to help them.

“Nothing happens until someone sells something.” as the quote goes…

Look at it this way: if you don’t “close” that potential client, he/she could hire another coach who isn’t as good as you are.

And that would be a shame.
