I stumbled across something the other day that I would have sworn was a satirical article on “The Onion”, but I checked it out and it’s legit:
In an effort to combat dogs doing their business in other peoples’ yards, a bunch of HOAs and property managers across the US have started using something called “PooPrints” …
All owners of dogs in a participating community must submit a cheek swab taken to get their pets’ DNA, which is stored in a database.
If a homeowner finds an unexpected “surprise” on their property, they collect the evidence and send it to the lab to identify the furry culprit. If there’s a match, the HOA is notified and the dog’s owner is fined.
Maybe some TV network will roll the dice on a show based on this (“Law and Order: Canine Unit”)?
