When I started my coaching business, I was the “chief cook and bottle washer”.

If you haven’t heard the term before, a CCBW is “a person who performs a variety of important but routine tasks” and I’d venture a guess to say that it applies to most online entrepreneurs.

In the early days, I even took some pride in handling everything.

I figured that it showed off my entrepreneurial energy, and besides – who better to do something than the business owner?

As time went on, I realized that there is no glory in trying to do everything yourself.

First, I handed off my podcast editing and associated tasks to my brother Matt’s team, and I could finally catch my breath (I edited the first 300 episodes of my show, but I’d rather get a root canal than continuing to edit it).

Matt’s team seamlessly took that part over, and I thought “hey – the world didn’t end!”. The sun came up the next day, and I was a lot less stressed.

But the final nail in the coffee of my role as chief cook and bottle washer came when I hired a team of VAs led by Cody Lardizabal early in 2018.

Cody’s crew handles a number of tasks for me, but especially the admin stuff in The Coaching Jungle Facebook group.

I had resisted taking the step, and put all sort of excuses out there, but I finally pulled the trigger.

And just like when I delegated my podcasting stuff, I was instantly relieved and knew that I made the right move.

I can’t say enough good stuff about Cody – his pricing is reasonable, and he works hard.

Since a lot of people in my community are at the stage where they’re ready to get help with their businesses too, I asked Cody to do a training for my community showing some of the strategies that he puts to work for me (especially around Facebook group monetization).
