A friend/past guest of my podcast has a large (almost 100,000 member) Facebook group, and he recently announced that he was shutting it down.
While most of the comments on his post announcing the news were positive, with members saying how much they got from his group, there were others accusing him of being out only for the money and painting him as a cross between Gordon Gekko and JR Ewing.
Although he changed his mind and is keeping the Facebook group going, the negative comments received highlight an unfortunate attitude in the online space.
There are too many envious types attacking those who are doing well, like my friend.
And their attacks don’t make any sense – the guy has poured his heart and soul (and thousands of hours) into building his free community up over the years … how is that “greedy”?
Heaven forbid that someone actually offer his or her services as compensation for all of the blood, sweat, and tears of building up that community … the horror!!!
The longer I’m in the game, the more I realize I don’t want anything to do with these types. I’ll chase them away and repel them as much as I possibly can to keep them out of my world.
If you’re a motivated coach who would rather roll up your sleeves and work on your business than take shots at successful people, Secret Coach Club could be for you.
The deadline to get in for March is tomorrow at midnight (EST), details here:
