Many years ago I was a member of a popular Facebook group for coaches that had about 4,000 members.
Things were going well with it, but then the group owners took their eyes off the ball …
They stopped moderating the group, and they weren’t around to delete a flood of spam that went up on the wall.
The result?
The group became “The Wild West”, with its wall resembling The Home Shopping Network because of all of the promotional posts and junk.
This led to a less-than-satisfactory member experience and it was no longer fun in there (I left the group shortly after all of this happened)
When I started my group, The Coaching Jungle, I committed to being tight with the rules to ensure members have the best possible experience in there.
While a few bad apples have been frustrated at this “iron fist” approach, I’ve received many more messages and comments from the 23,000+ members thanking us for running a tight ship and enforcing our rules.
