When I was a kid, there was a story going around the place that I grew up in about a nearby beach that was home to buried treasure.
The stories went that Welch Cove Beach had a lot of shipwrecks back in the day (being on the ocean and full of large, jagged rocks), and one such shipwreck led to a bunch of gold being buried somewhere near that beach.
Here’s the kicker:
The treasure is being protected by The Headless Horseman, who guards it and keeps nosey treasure hunters away.
At night, people say they can hear the sound of his horse galloping around the beach as he monitors it and protects his loot.
So what did a ten year old boy who grew up loving Hardy Boys books and the Indiana Jones movies do? Stay at home, safe from the clutches of The Headless Horseman and his buried treasure?
Not a chance!
My brother and I spent our summer days walking around that beach with our trusty metal detector. One did the scanning, while the other kept his eyes peeled for any headless ghosts approaching.
We even went down to look around at night, when it was pitch black and usually foggy. One such night we could have swore that we heard the galloping of a horse, and we sprinted out of there faster than Usain Bolt!
We never found any treasure, but the stories of it have stuck with me today, almost 30 years later.
That’s the power of stories.
The brain loves them, and if you do it right you can incorporate them into your writing to make a lot more sales!
Since so many coaches and entrepreneurs are missing the boat with storytelling, I’ve asked my friend (and a heck of a copywriter) Razwana Wahid to do a digital class with me on this stuff.
In the training, you’ll learn:
– One word that gets a story started every time.
– A simple framework to add stories to sales/landing pages
– Which of your stories benefit brand recognition, and which ones absolutely destroy it.
– How to add stories to your writing (emails, social media updates, blog posts) to persuade and sell.
It’s happening this Thursday, March 30th at 1 pm EST. Grab your spot here:

I’ll keep lookout for The Headless Horseman, you just bring your pen and paper to soak in all the good stuff.
