Being a fan of comic book movies and tv shows, I’ve watched all of the Marvel series that are on Netflix.
Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, The Defenders …
But I held off on one of them, Iron Fist, because it got such bad reviews (17% on Rotten Tomatoes. Ouch!)
Critics attacked the casting of the lead actor, the writing, the fight scenes – and a lot of other stuff.
They didn’t hold back.
I finally got around to watching it recently, and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised.
It wasn’t perfect, but I found it to be an enjoyable ride (a lot of the storyline is around business, which might be why I enjoyed it so much).
It became something to watch late at night, when I was looking to relax and watch a good show.
Had I listened to others, I would have missed out on it.
That’s what happens when you don’t check things out for yourself.
I can’t count how many times I’ve given someone or something a chance: a book, a podcast guest, a coach or an online program, and have been pleasantly surprised.
These things have led to some big breakthroughs for my business and my life, all because I experienced something first-hand instead of ruling it out based only on what others say.
Is there something you should be taking a chance on?
