I stumbled across a series of videos on YouTube about people who accidentally became famous memes on the Internet.
It told the stories of such “meme celebs” as:
- “Overly Attached Girlfriend”, the girl spoofing clingy and obsessive women …
- “Success Kid”, the toddler clutching a fistful of sand with a determined look on his face …
- “Disaster Girl”, the little girl sporting a sadistic grin while a house burns down in the background …
- “Blinking White Guy” (Google it and you’ll probably recognize that one)
In most cases, the person became Internet famous with little effort and by total accident. One day they’re living a normal existence, and the next they have offers to license their images for t-shirts, board games, and other merchandise.
Grabbing this kind of attention and compensation can happen in the meme world, but it’s like catching lightning in a bottle …
The same goes for the coaching world.
I know some coaches that find success quickly, but that’s rare.
