HELPING COACHES GET MORE CLIENTS SINCE 2014!

Should you fake it ’til you make it?

by | Nov 16, 2016 | Blog

There’s a debate raging in Coachland about whether you should “fake it ’til you make it” …

Here’s my two cents:

You should never lie in your marketing and promotion …

However, you can’t be afraid to blow your own horn!

So don’t be one of the cheezy guru-wannabes that inflates his earnings, claiming to make 7 figures a year when he really makes little or nothing.

Don’t be one of the coaches snapping photos in front of a rented mansion or boat, or hauling every dollar out of your bank account to lay it on your bed to take a picture before racing to get it back into your bank account.

But you do have to project a confident image of yourself. People like to work with those who have their acts together.

Amplify – without venturing into being sleazy.

You’re playing a role when you’re in business. You’re an actor in a performance.

I’m reading Grant Cardone’s new book now – Be Obsessed Or Be Average – and he illustrates his strategy of acting and putting on a performance.

One night, he had to walk through the roughest, toughest part of New Orleans. It was a place that you wouldn’t want to venture through at day, let alone at night …

He decided that he was going to play the role of a crazy man that no one would dare mess with. He visualized this, set his mind to it, and wandered out onto the mean streets.

He projected that image, and played the part so well that nobody messed with him.

When you’re in business, push the image of the person that you want to be out there …

Just don’t use any rented mansions.
