The other night I rewatched the movie “The Mist”.
It’s a great film with a shocking ending that sticks with you long after you finish (don’t worry – no spoilers here), but it got me thinking about some stuff.
In that movie, a bunch of people are trapped in a grocery store after their Maine town is covered in a thick fog.
They can’t see more than a few feet ahead of them, and it’s a confusing scenario – especially since some of them are being picked off by weird creatures lurking in that mist.
It reminds me of the confusion out in the coaching world – so much advice is being thrown around and bright, shiny objects flying by that coaches don’t know where to go or if they’re heading in the right direction.
The coaches who work with me get increased clarity so they aren’t stuck in a fog of confusion. We decide on a game plan, tune out all of the noise and distractions, and get to work.
(And I keep them on track and accountable so they don’t get hauled off course …)
