HELPING COACHES GET MORE CLIENTS SINCE 2014!

Don’t get stuck in the phone booth when you should be helping people

Spoiler alert: if you haven’t seen the new teaser trailer for the next Deadpool movie yet, and you’re touchy about spoilers, stop reading (you’ve been warned!)

=====

A few days ago, I watched the teaser trailer for the Deadpool sequel.

If you don’t know who Deadpool is, he’s a wise-cracking anti-hero who likes to break the fourth wall and talk with the audience. The first movie came out last year, was a huge hit, and a lot of fun …

In the teaser trailer, Wade Wilson (Deadpool) is walking down the street and minding his own business, when he hears the screams of a man who’s being robbed in a nearby alley.

Wilson declares that this won’t happen on his watch, and he rushes to a phone booth to change into his Deadpool costume (while the theme song from Superman: The Movie plays in the background – that’s part of the fun).

Once in the phone booth, things don’t go too well: Wilson takes a long time to get his costume on. He bangs up against the walls of the booth, and is clearly struggling to get changed.

After a minute and a half of thrashing around the phone booth, he’s finally in his Deadpool outfit, but he hears a gunshot. He races out to the alley to discover that the man he wanted to save has been shot and is lying dead on the ground.

Deadpool: “I’m so sorry – I spent way too long in the phone booth”

I see the same thing happen in the coaching world every day.

Coaches who could (should) be helping people are wasting time in their own phone booths. It could be messing around with something on their websites, humming and hawing over the design of their business cards, or procrastinating over their niche.

Meanwhile, potential clients are yelling for help, but the coaches are nowhere to be found.

Don’t mess around.

Don’t let the person’s pleas go unanswered.

Don’t let another superhero swoop in and get the credit.

Just get out there and help.
