David vs Goliath email lists

by | Oct 10, 2018 | Blog

If you have a small email list, you can feel a little like David vs the Goliaths with their enormous lists.
I’ve been asked by some people if they need to have a certain size list to benefit from sending daily emails.
My response?
If you have a list with even three subscribers – and those subscribers are your mother, your aunt Edna and your uncle Larry – you should email daily.
You’ll become a better writer, and a faster one too with the practice.
So when your list grows, you’ll be in a better position to profit from it.
Regarding list size, you don’t need a huge list to make emails work.
If given the choice, I’d put my money on the person with a 500 subscriber list who emails daily over someone with a 5,000 subscriber list but who only emails it every second week.
With this example, the smaller list is sending out 182,500 emails per year.
The larger list is sending out 130,000 emails per year.
Besides that difference, the person with the smaller list will develop a tighter bond since her subscribers are hearing from her (and some are interacting with her) daily.
A large list doesn’t guarantee success.
I once had a client who bought an email list with about 40,000 subscribers on it.
She said that it was a waste of money, because those people didn’t know who the heck she was. Few opened the emails and she had no sales from it.
(If you haven’t guessed, I don’t recommend buying email lists)
You’re better off starting with a small list, and emailing it daily while continuing to grow it.
If you’d like to learn how to do this, my Daily Email System is for you.
