Whenever I try to bring a coach on the daily email train , they usually give one objection:
“I want to Marc, but won’t everyone unsubscribe???”
The same goes when I tell a coach he or she has to get more active on social media. They worry that if they post too much on Facebook, people will unfriend them (one I know has an app that notifies him when someone unfriends him, and when it happens he reaches out to ask why they did it).
If you’re sending out blatant sales pitches with everything you do, of course people won’t like it. They’re already getting hit with a trillion marketing messages a day …
But if you’re giving value, and you’re entertaining them, they’ll look forward to seeing what you have to say.
You’ll build a stronger relationship with your people.
You have to shift your thinking around on this:
Celebrate your unsubscribes and your social media unfriendings.
Odds are those people would have never done anything with you anyways. It’s highly unlikely they would have become a client or a customer, so does it really matter?
When someone leaves your world, it opens up space for someone who truly resonates with you. It also frees up head space by not worrying if you’re offending so-and-so with what you put out there!
It can take some effort to make this mental shift, but once you do you’ll feel like a million bucks.
If you want to start doing daily emails (the right way), the October “Secret Coach Club” issue will walk you through my complete system.
It goes to the printer soon, grab yours here:
