I once worked with a coach 1:1, and she was doing really well. She was getting clients, filling her group programs, and her business was rocking and rolling. But …
She wasn’t telling anybody about it!
I knew how well she was doing, because I was her coach and got to hear about all of her wins, but if I didn’t know her I would think she was a struggling coach with no clients.
One day I asked her; “Why don’t you ever share your wins?”.
I suspected that she was afraid of looking like a braggart, or being too promotional, and I was right.
I suggested she start talking more about her wins. Not in an arrogant way (and not breaking any confidentiality between her and her clients) but to let others know the good she was doing out in the world.
The result was even more clients for her, and I could immediately feel the extra energy that she brought to our sessions.
The moral of the story?
Sometimes you have to blow your own horn. If you don’t do it, nobody else will!
