I’m back at it today, after a couple of days camping for our New Brunswick Day long weekend.
I took the little guy to “Jellystone Park” in Woodstock, where Yogi Bear is treated like a god (Seriously, the kids flock to him like they did to Elvis and The Beatles during their heydays!)
A cool thing happened while on the trip:
My son Gray loved the arcade there, and he played a lot of a pinball game that spit out little rubber balls every time you play.
Yesterday, on our final trip down to the arcade, a little boy was watching him play for awhile. Gray asked if he wanted to use the pinball machine, but the boy said that he didn’t have any quarters so he was just going to watch …
My son reached into his pocket and gave the kid some quarters so he could play (and made a new friend).
As we walked back to the campsite, I congratulated Gray on what he did, and told him that I was very proud of him. #ProudDad
It doesn’t seem like much, but it stuck with me.
Anyways, even though it’s a holiday Monday here, I can’t stay away from coaching for long or I’ll go crazy!
