It seems like everyone is out to get stuff for free nowadays.
Just yesterday, Julia and I were stopped in traffic and we saw something strange.
A woman was walking down the sidewalk, when she suddenly stopped by a fence and reached up over it to pluck flowers from a bush in the homeowner’s yard!
We’re not talking about one or two little flowers here. Little-Miss-Help-Herself-To-Other-People’s-Stuff grabbed a whole bouquet of flowers that you might order from 1-800-Flowers.com.
After she did it, she strolled down the street with her flowers, like she did nothing wrong.
I’d like to think that her rude behaviour was a rare thing, but you see this happening in the coaching world all the time.
People expect to get everything for free, including brain picking calls and even long coaching sessions.
They’re no different than that woman who stole the flowers – except the homeowner didn’t see her doing that. Coaches know they’re being robbed and still don’t do anything about it (they even encourage it).
If you’re working for free now, stop!
Charge what you’re worth before you become a bitter, burned out coach.
My Secret Coach Club newsletter is designed to give you a kick in the butt and keep you out of this trap. It’ll help get you more clients, so you aren’t resigning yourself to coaching for free. You can get it here:
