Podcasting has been a big part of my business growth since I launched Natural Born Coaches back in November 2014.

I think podcasts are a great way to grow your business, but they aren’t for everyone.

I have to admit – they’re a lot of work!

The first 300 episodes of my podcast was a daily one, and I didn’t have a team back then so I was “chief cook and bottle washer” for it.

I’m shocked I didn’t end up in the loony bin with the amount of work needed to do 300 daily episodes (It’s now a weekly frequency and I have help from my team, so I’m sleeping much better).

If you’re considering starting a podcast, remember that although most shows are around 30 minutes, you could spend five hours (or more) on every episode when you factor in booking guests, recording and editing, uploading them, etc.

That’s time that a lot of online entrepreneurs just don’t have.

So does that mean that people should stay away from audio content?

I’m not suggesting that, but I will give you an alternative that will take you a lot less time:

Start an Alexa flash briefing.

Even a daily flash briefing will take a lot less time than a podcast …

I have a daily one minute show, and it takes me just a few hours every month to do everything for it.

I block off a few hours once a month, and fly through with batch recording a bunch of little one minute episodes.

Once I get in the groove, I can really fly with it.

So if you want to add an audio component to your business, but are hesitant with podcasting, consider Alexa.
