Here’s wishing my American friends a happy 4th of July!
Independence was a powerful motivator for the American revolutionaries, and it remains a powerful motivator for others almost 250 years later.
Independence from a job you don’t enjoy, independence from a relationship that’s no longer serving you, independence from playing small and not going after what you want.
My clients have declared independence from their 9-to-5 jobs to become coaches, and in every case I had them declare a specific date that they’ll be fully-transitioned over.
Setting a date reinforces the goal, and it makes it much more achievable than just saying “I want to leave my job some day.”
Because of the shutdowns going on, a lot of people have either lost their “secure” jobs or are working from home and realize that they’d like to start an online business.
If that’s you, a coaching business could be a good fit – low overhead, the ability to help a lot of people, and more security than a J-O-B (if you do it right).
