I’m a big fan of getting out to be interviewed on podcasts.

In terms of ROI, few things match it. It costs you nothing (other than 30 minutes or so of your time) and it’s an opportunity to reach a bunch of people who didn’t know you before.

At the beginning of 2019, I set a goal of being on at least 100 podcasts this year, and I’m on pace to beat that.

I’ll share one reason I’ve been booked so often (keep an open mind, since this seems obvious and common sense):

Every week, I put a post up on my social media channels asking for interviews.

This one simple action (which takes a combined two minutes a week) has gotten me booked to be on a lot of shows that I didn’t even know about.

My posts aren’t anything crazy. They’re usually short ones saying the type of shows that I’m looking to be on and asking those reading it to message me if they want to book something.

The key is to do it consistently. Mark it in your calendar (just like an appointment) and religiously publish those posts every week.

If you post on four of your social media platforms every week, that’s over 200 in the run of a year. It’d be impossible not to get interviews lined up with that many pitches out there.

Bonus points if you ask your email list, which is something that I haven’t been as consistent with.
