Wayne Gretzky is referred to as “The Great One” here in Canada.
(I’ve finally forgiven him for the high-stick he gave to Doug Gilmour that cost the Maple Leafs their shot at the Stanley Cup back in ’93 …)
Gretzky wasn’t a bad player, and when he retired he had the record for having ‘the most records’ – he had more career records than many NHL players had career points!
My friend Karl Bryan is not Wayne Gretzky, but back in the day I hear he could score a goal or two. Every Canadian kid’s dream is to put on their country’s jersey and he got to play for Team Canada many times in inline hockey (that’s ice hockey on rollerblades)
He was a good hockey player, but he’s a much better business coach. At his peak he built a $5.5 million dollar business coaching company where he did $400,000 per month in new small business coaching clients.
He’s sold a number of his coaching programs for between $100,000 and $500,000 too …
