I discovered that there’s a famous Mawhinney out there.
Chuck Mawhinney is a big deal in the military world, since he holds the record for the most confirmed kills by a sniper in the United States Marine Corps.
(103 confirmed kills and 216 probable kills in his 16 months of action in Vietnam)
I’m not much of a shot – I’ve played paintball a few times and it wasn’t pretty – but I’ve had to improve my targeting when it comes to my business.
When I say “targeting”, I’m referring to choosing my clients.
When I was a new coach, I would scatter my shots all over … I’d work with anyone who had a pulse or could fog a mirror, in the hopes that I could make it work.
BIG mistake.
It should be common sense, but you have to identify your ideal client and then be firm on who you let into your world.
I have five criteria for my ideal client. He/she is:
– an action-taker
– wants to make a big impact
– is coachable and respects boundaries
– is fun to work with
– pays me on time and what I’m worth
Have you decided on who your ideal client is?
Tomorrow I’m going to share a strategy related to this that I learned from my friend Scott, that helped him attract the perfect clients into his business …
In the meantime, if you want to chat about getting ideal clients into your coaching business, you can book something with me here:
