A client of mine recently told me about an app that she thought my little guy would enjoy, called “Toontastic” …

It’s one that lets kids create cartoon movies on their iPads. They choose the story, characters, scenes, and can add their voices and play director.

So they become a bunch of little Stephen Spielbergs.

I downloaded it onto Gray’s iPad the other day, and …

He’s officially addicted.

(I thought it was once kids hit their teens that they don’t want anything to do with their parents, but this app is going to speed that timeline up!)

There’s a simple reason that this app has caught my son’s attention:

We humans love storytelling.

We love telling stories, and we love listening to them.

According to the experts, the earliest documented stories were told about 17,000 or so years ago (give or take) …

A practice that has lasted that long isn’t going away anytime soon.

People are flooded with information nowadays – checklists, PDFs, documents and more, that are often dull and boring.

So if you can throw some interesting stories into the mix, you’ve got a leg up on others.

And don’t let me hear you say “but I don’t have any stories!” EVERYONE has stories!
