HELPING COACHES GET MORE CLIENTS SINCE 2014!

10 hours of paint drying???

by | May 19, 2017 | Blog

One of the most important rules for coaches to remember is:

Don’t be boring.

It’s a crowded online marketplace, and people have plenty of options to choose from.

If they want to be put to sleep, they’ll buy some sleeping pills.

Or they can watch the film Paint Drying by Charlie Lyne, which is 10 hours of – you guessed it – paint drying. (Lyne made it to stick the middle finger to the UK film censors, who were forced to watch it in its entirety).

The UK film censors had to watch 10 hours of paint drying, it is their job after all. But your prospects won’t stick around that long for boring material.

At the moment I’m reading Three Times Carlin, a collection of material from the late, great comedian George Carlin. It’s a departure from the business/personal development type books that I usually read, but I’m doing it to expand my thinking (and George Carlin is pretty funny, too).

You can say what you want about George Carlin (he wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea), but you can never call him boring. He spoke his mind, and kept people interested.

Spend some time reading and watching things that you normally wouldn’t.

Step outside your normal comfort zone, it’ll make the content that you put out there a lot more interesting.

Lately I’ve been using a “Boring-Busting Method” to fill two group programs that I opened up (that’s 10 new clients for me), get more coaches to join my Secret Coach Club, and also keep my emails daisy fresh and not boring.

I’ll be sharing this method in the next issue of the Secret Coach Club print newsletter. Learn how to do it here:
