f you spend a lot of time watching others in your business space, stop.
I’m all for market research, but the problem with watching others too closely is it can make you feel like crap and hurt your motivation.
The online space is filled with lots of people sharing their “wins”. Some are legit, many are full-of-you-know-what, but either way it isn’t helping you to see that stuff constantly.
I heard a great piece of advice once: If you have to compare yourself to anyone, choose someone who’s been doing it the same amount of time you’ve been.
For example, if you’ve been coaching for two years, don’t compare yourself to the guy or gal who’s been at it for over a decade.
They’ve had a big head start on you, and it’s like comparing apples to oranges.
Look instead at coaches who’ve been at it two years as well.
Or better yet, pay no attention to others and do your own thing.
There’s a reason why horses wear blinders when they’re racing. Since they have peripheral vision, they’d get distracted by the horses in the other lane if they didn’t have them.
You have to remain focused too, and wear mental blinders when it comes to your competition to avoid veering out of your lane.
If you’re ready for a leg up in the race to get more coaching clients, my next 10 Clients In 90 Days group program starts soon.
