I’m reading an excellent book now called Confessions of an Advertising Man by David Ogilvy.
(Ogilvy is rumoured to be the inspiration for Don Draper and the show Mad Men)
It was written back in 1963, and although the book is aimed towards people in the advertising industry I think it’s a must-read for any entrepreneur – especially those who have people trying to haggle them over their fees.
Ogilvy writes:
“Pay peanuts and you get monkeys”
I love that.
The next time a potential client tries to beat you down, shoot this line out of your mouth.
Commit it to memory …

One of the things that gets me really excited is helping the coaches I work with not only hold the line on their fees, but increase them so they’re being paid what they’re truly worth.
Being compensated well is a big part of my 10 Clients In 90 Days group program.
My clients aren’t monkeys, so I won’t let them be paid peanuts.
