There’s a “crisis” happening in Japan at the moment, where a potato shortage is causing a frenzy over potato chips.
Bags of chips, which usually sell for about $1.20 US, are now selling for $14 and consumers are rushing stores to grab any they can find.
They’re even being sold for high profit on auction websites (it reminds me of the “Tickle Me Elmo” craze that happened years ago)
Supply and demand rules the world …
When I see stories like this, I look at the coaching industry for parallels.
Some would point to the multitude of coaches flooding the market at the moment as a sign that coaching fees will drop.
Yet there are coaches who are commanding huge fees for what they do, and I don’t see that changing (in fact, I’d bet that the fees will increase).
What gives?
Regardless of how many coaches put out their (virtual) “Open” signs, there will always be a strong demand for good coaches.
Life-changing coaches will never be a dime-a-dozen, so they can expect to continue to be paid well for what they do.
Don’t get discouraged if you see a lot of coaches hovering around.
Don’t worry about competition, there usually isn’t much of it at the top.
Just stay focused and become the best coach that you can be, and you’ll be fine.
