You gotta love it to sell it

When I believe in what I’m selling, I can sell the heck out of it.

I don’t have a problem selling my coaching services, since I know that I help people and the value is there. It’s fun to do it.

But if I don’t believe in something, that’s my Kryptonite.

If I don’t enjoy doing it, I won’t do much with it.

Take for example MLMs …

Nothing against network marketers, it’s just not my thing. Never has been, and never will be.

A friend talked me into trying an MLM about 4 or 5 years ago. I told him my policy that I “don’t do MLM’s” but he’s a great salesmen, and he talked me into it.

I did a bunch of appointments, wasn’t feeling it, sold nothing, and gave away the product that accumulated in my closet (in this case, it was coffee – which makes no sense since I’m not even a coffee drinker).

I wasn’t feeling it, it wasn’t a good fit, and my results showed that.

If you don’t enjoy coaching, don’t do it just because you think that the money is good. The money can be good, but only if you’re good (and you put the effort into it).

If coaching isn’t your “thing”, find something that really fires you up. You’ll have much less resistance with prospects, and it won’t even feel like you’re selling.
