Sometimes I feel like I’m a driving instructor more than a coach.
In my experience, people are often driving with one foot on the gas and one foot on the brake in their businesses.
I see it with some clients …
They know what they have to do, and they do it for awhile …
But then they put their foot on the brake.
They stop doing the consistent actions that they need to be doing to drive their businesses forward.
It could be out of fear of failure (or for some, a fear of success).
Or it’s because they’re afraid of what others think of them.
Or maybe they don’t want to feel like they’re being too promotional, or too “salesy”.
Whatever the reason, they slow down. They don’t send the emails that need to get sent, they stop writing and sharing their content, they stop going out on podcasts to be interviewed …
Try driving a car like that, and you’re not going to get very far.
It’s my job to be the annoying driving instructor, who nudges (and sometimes barks) to get that darn foot off the brake.
At the end of the day, everyone needs accountability.
Try to do it all by yourself, and it’s easy to get off track.
