Grabbing greatness

by | Jan 1, 2016 | Blog

There’s a good chance that you’re spending some time this weekend plotting out your goals for the new year.

I’ve seen a bunch of people in my community sharing pictures and posts about their planning, so I wanted to send over my two cents:

Successful people often believe that they’re destined for greatness.

Winston Churchill firmly believed this from the time of his birth. He held onto that thought for years, and when the Nazi threat rose he stepped up and grabbed onto that greatness.

Steve Jobs always believed that he was going to die young, so he was in a hurry to do big things (he did die young, but he accomplished big things while he was here)

Now is the time of year that you’re setting your goals for the new year. There will be the temptation to go a little more conservative with those goals – to lower the bar and “not get crazy” with them.

I say go crazy! Think big and think of yourself as being destined for greatness.

You may have to trick your brain for awhile, but keep it up and you can convince yourself of anything.

In the words of Orison Swett Marden:

“All who have accomplished great things have had a great aim, have fixed their gaze on a goal that was high, one which sometimes seemed impossible”.

Wise words to remember all year, not just during New Years Resolution time.
