It’s not easy being an entrepreneur in these hot, sunny days of summer.
I was on a call on Monday with a client and the topic of summer came up, and I told her some things that I’ve learned from a lot of summers being in business:
You can be the most motivated guy or gal in the world, but let’s face it – a lot of people are at the beach, the splash park, or are off to that cottage that they rented for the week.
So even if you’re grinding away at things, there are a lot of people who are MIA for a few months.
Summer has a way of messing with coaches’ heads. Things are rolling in spring and heading into summer and then …
BAM – beach time!
The last few years I’ve noticed this. My business still kept moving, but there was a lot of anticipated business that held off to go do a cannonball in the pool, and pop its head out after Labor Day.
So I don’t sweat things now, even when it’s 34 degrees Celsius (93.2 F) like it’s been this week …
I know that people can’t stay at the beach all year, there’ll come a time when the air will cool and people will get their butts in gear.
Just keep plugging away and working at it.
I’m not saying to stay away from the beach – you should enjoy the season – but don’t let playtime throw your business off-the-rails.
Keep working on it every day and avoid those “Summertime Blues” …
